    This is so beautifully painted. I love the edges along the bottom of the artichoke, and the way they disappear into shadow.
    Being a California native, artichokes are one of my staple vegetables – I just get a kick out of the grocery clerks here in PA when they look at my purchase with that 'what the heck is this??' expression on their face!

    I love this painting too. My wife paints as well, and she often feels the same way you do about holding on to some of her paintings.
