This Week’s Roundup
Hi there – I hope your weekend is off to a great start!
This week I’m most excited about sharing some of my new videos with you. Until now, I’ve only showed you my works in progress in these videos, but this week I started to broaden the focus so I can talk about my techniques and offer behind-the-scenes views of my studio.
Here are the highlights for the week:
When I came back into the studio Monday morning and looked at the painting on my easel with fresh eyes, I discovered a problem with the composition. I also offered you a painting of a simple orange with a not-so-simple backdrop, and I continued the discussion from last week of how backgrounds relate to the rest of a painting.
Wednesday’s blog post talked about coming to the end of a long-running series of paintings… and a really neat frame.
On Thursday I shared a video about my process, specifically how I combine working from life and photography.
I finished up the week with a behind-the-scenes video talking about my easel, a blog post about painting food, (THAT’S where you’ll find the pastries) and by almost completing the painting you can see above – just a few details left.
Thanks for checking these out – I truly appreciate your time. And with that, I want to wish you a great week ahead!
