Beginning a New Commission
I’m excited to be starting on a new commissioned painting. It’s requested by a couple that wanted to feature items that were important to their family life.
I recently visited their home so we could discuss the painting. We worked out the items they wanted included, as well as the composition. The image above shows the results of that discussion.
The silver pitcher and cut glass vase are family heirlooms. The bronze silverware and saffron silk were from time their parents had spent in the Peace Corps in Thailand. The metal rose and small pot were made by their children in school. The Day Lily came from their garden, and finally the wallpaper in the background is in their dining room, and was a special selection.
It’s an honor and a pleasure to do this painting for them, and I can’t wait to get going.
