Red Apple No. 4
Today’s painting for you:
“Red Apple No. 4”, Oil on Panel, 4×4 inches, 2012 (sold)
It’s easy enough to paint a generic apple – really, anybody with about a week’s worth of training in the fundamentals of this craft could do it. The real skill, and the real artistry, shows in capturing that one specific apple in front of me, unlike any other on the face of the earth.
Things have their personalities and characters too, and if I’m going to paint an apple, I feel like it’s my job to seek out what makes it individual and unique.
I hope you enjoy it!
