Today’s Painting for You: Jade Bowl, Grapes, Tibetan Rug
Today’s painting for you:
“Jade Bowl, Grapes, Tibetan Rug”, Oil on Panel, 5×5 inches, 2015 (sold)
I just love this rug – I’ve probably painted it a dozen times, and featured a related series of them in some recent posts – “Creamer, Grapes, Tibetan Rug“, “Handmade Bowl, Grapes, Tibetan Rug“, and “Silver, Grapes, Tibetan Rug“. This painting is obviously a member of that series, which may continue in the future.
The translucence of the jade was a powerful element, and normally would’ve been the main feature, but here I decided to strongly focus on the feel of the wool. It’s not such an easy texture to portray in paint, but I’m pleased with the outcome.
I hope you enjoy it!
