“Green Apple No. 3”
Oil on panel, 4×4 inches, 2010 (Sold)

Reflections are often the heart and soul of a still life painting.  More than anything else, they are the element that brings inanimate objects alive on the canvas, and help to create the impression that light moves quickly and gracefully through the composition.  In this painting, the candlestick is full of reflections like a mirror.  But if you look carefully, the apple also reflects some of its surroundings as well.

I finish between 1 and 4 paintings every month, and show them to my subscribers first.
