“Orange Tea” • Acrylic on Wood • 2.5 x 2.5 inches (6 x 6 cm) • 2014
One of my earliest memories of tea involves my grandmother serving me Orange Pekoe, and me spending a long time looking at the label wondering exactly what that meant. While no longer my favorite type of tea (I prefer green), I still love the name, and enjoy the fond memory. For this painting, I’ve taken a more literal approach, and served up a lovely antique teacup and an equally beautiful small orange with stem and leaves intact.
