“Sneak Attack” and Paul Strisik

Private Collection
Last week my painting “Sneak Attack” went to an extraordinary private collection containing about 550 works of art. Since then, I’ve been having an email conversation with the owners, and it turns out that their collection also contains more than 30 paintings by Paul Strisik. In addition to being an important painter, he was the author of several books on the craft of painting. One of these, Capturing Light in Oils, was a significant guide to me 15 years ago as I was taking my first steps as a hobbyist landscape painter. It turns out that he was also instrumental in inspiring these collectors to buy the art that they loved. It feels like a nice symmetry to me, and I’m honored that my painting will hang with such distinguished company in its new home.
