"Plum, Silver Creamer, Red Napkin"

Oil on panel, 5×5 inches (12×12 cm), 2021

“Plum, Silver Creamer, Red Napkin” captures a still, contemplative moment, featuring a fresh plum and silver creamer resting on a colorful red napkin – there is even a small reflected self-portrait of the artist quietly at work.

My studio is filled – overflowing – with things to paint.  Beautiful, dramatic, even luxurious things.  Yet sometimes it’s the simplest elements that make the best paintings – here a simple creamer, a plum, and a napkin set on an old board… anything more would ruin the spell.

The original painting has sold, but several print versions are available (see below).
