Perhaps more than any other form of painting, still life encourages a slow, careful, and thoughtful approach. Rather than quickly dashing things off, colors and forms are studied and considered at length. The painter who adopts this approach soon realizes – for instance – that lemons are not just generic lemons. Rather, like the human face, each one is distinct, beautiful, and wonderful in its own way.
I finish between 1 and 4 paintings every month, and show them to my subscribers first.
