The best part of doing this paint was the bluish film that you find on the surface of many plums.  It’s actually a wax – called Epicuticular wax – that appears on many fruits to help conserve moisture.  To paint it, I waited until the red of the plum had dried, and then lightly brushed the film on top of it – a technique known as glazing.

I finish between 1 and 4 paintings every month, and show them to my subscribers first.
